The Chalet is located on the Humber Valley Championship Golf Course (usually open May to November) which was designed by Doug Carrick and was awarded Best New Course in Canada in 2007. It is also just 10 minutes drive away from Marble Mountain Ski Lodge which offers a varied level of skiing from late Dec to April and some of the best skiing east of the Rocky Montains. Many people who have visited both Mont Tremblant ski resort north of Montreal and Marble Mountain have a preference of ski-ing at Marble Mountain. Cat skiing can be done on the outskirts of Cornerbrook (see the sea as you ski!) Just 5 minutes away is the Humber River which offers some of the best Salmon fishing in the World, not to mention the Trout! Sailing & Kayaking on Deer Lake is peaceful. Wildlife surrounds the chalet but the UNESCO Gros Morne National Park is 45 minutes drive away and a perfect chance to spot Black Bear, Moose, Caribou and various other critters. In the summer, travel further and you could spot ice bergs, whales & dolphin. Humber Valley Resort offers a restaurant on site but nearby is the well known Strawberry Hill Hotel with its excellent fine dining restaurant. Cornerbrook is only 15 mins away and has several good restaurants and Pasadena is just 10 mins away and offers a couple of small eateries.

Local activities: skiing, golf, cycling, horse riding, water skiing, sailing, fishing, swimming, walking, mountain biking.
